htc_hd_mini Clove have just published a few little snippets of information of the HTC HD mini.

You can use it as a WiFi router

The phone antenna is actually on the removable back cover

HTC designed the inside to be as beautiful on the inside as it is outside

To me, it still doesn’t seem an attractive device. Yes, HTC call it “sensible” in size (clearly referring to the HD2), but HVGA? Is anyone genuinely excited by a screen resolution lower than that of the Diamond?

Given what wonderful things HTC can do with the HD2, is anyone else wondering why?

Pretty pointless device but one thing that has been missed is that true to form HTC has ignored the Diamond 2 with no mention of an upgrade to WM 6.5.3 and is now pushing its replacement.

It's not ugly at all, I don't get the hatred?

It doesn't look as good as the HD2, but the hardware is not ugly. Actually, both the boxy design and the lower res screen remind me a lot of the original Samsung Omnia.

That had QVGA and it really wasn't a problem in the slightest, except maybe 1/10 apps won't work on QVGA… this might be even worse for HVGA since no WM device I think had had it before… but having a resolution lower than WVGA or even VGA isn't a deal breaker on a super entry-level phone.

If apps are available for HVGA I certainly wouldn't look at it as a drawback if I wanted to get a cheap phone.

The problem is not the fact that HVGA is lower than VGA, the problem is that it is the third and different screen resolution. Many applications are capable of running on QVGA and VGA devices. But HVGA will need new graphics – icons, …

The screen res is HUGE problem. Do not buy this, after all HD2 price already falling fast.
