Homebrew: ‘Lock screen widgets’ under development for Windows Phone 7

lockwidgets

It seems WindowsPhoneHacker is slowly turning Windows Phone into Android.  The development of his folder solution for Windows Phone is progressing well, and now the hacker is turning his attention to the home screen.

He is gauging interest in developing “widgets” for the Windows Phone lock screen, writing:

Above is a snapshot of the app. We’re not sure what we’re calling it, but probably something like "lock widgets" or the like. What it does is allows data to be updated on the lock screen, for example, weather. This could also be RSS feeds, images, etc. One idea was to change the background dynamically to fit the Bing background of the day automatically.

If there is enough interest he is planning to turn the mock-up into a usable app.  Show your interest at WindowsPhoneHacker here.
