HTC 7 Trophy pops up on Vodafone Germany

htc 7 trophy coming to Vodafone Germany

htctropywp7 Bestboyz.de have managed to take some spy shots of Vodafone Germany’s inventory system, and our best friend, the supposed Windows phone 7 HTC 7 Trophy has popped up there.

It is still not clear what exactly the handset looks like (we know what we like) but interestingly what is now clear is that the name is not in fact the code name, but will be what the device will be marketed under.

Hopefully the handset will be an elusive front facing QWERTY handset we are all waiting for.

um, Microsoft has stated there will be no front facing QWERTY phones… unless you do like the Dell Lightning/Pre and have it slide out the bottom..
A front facing QWERTY would be awkward too with a screen thats 800×480 which is the required screen res at launch.

I certainly have not seen anything which indicated that front-facing keyboarded devices are banned. As they say on wikipedia – citation required.

"Microsoft developer evangelists Michael Kordahi and Andrew Coates took to a podcast to discuss the designs, with chassis 1 being a "big touchsceen" phone, with a 1GHz processor and dedicated graphics processor. They confirmed this will be the style of handset that will launch at the end of the year.

Chassis designs 2 and 3 were a bit more vague, with 2 packing touchscreens and full slide-out QWERTY keyboards and 3 perhaps being a candy bar phone design."

Unless front facing qwerty's will be available under chassis 3, again the screen resolution spec would make a front facing keyboard very awkward.. and 800×480 screen with a keyboard on the bottom? lol

You do know, in fact, when a slider, like the dell lightning, does slide out the keyboard it is exactly as awkward as you describe.

chassis past 1 were said to be able to have HVGA screens too so maybe that is what the trophy will wear

Yeah, but the HVGA screens won't be out for a while. Didn't they say they wanted to wait like a year until they released a different form factor…

It's not going to be a BlackBerry style phone, not if they're releasing it this early.
