HTC HD2 extended battery demoed

Pocketnow have uploaded this video showing the HTC HD2 Official Extended battery in action. They report the 2300 mAh battery, which costs about $50 ad also fits the US HD2, provides up to 2.5 days of active use, which seems pretty low for the bulk, but the kick stand still looks pretty cool and does a lot to make up for the brick-like nature of the resulting unit.

2.5 days of active use is bad? I get barely one day of standby, using it for maybe 20 minutes in between.

I really like the kickstand though, they should make a normal thickness battery cover with the kickstand. It'd probably cost too much just to buy just for the stand though I guess.

20 mins use with 1 day of standy….something is not right with your phone! My HD2 will usually need 1 charge per day as I am giving it heavy usage or perhaps 1.5 – 2 days if I use it lightly. Do a hard reset, take your microSD card out to see if that's causing the problem…that will help

I was obviously exaggerating a bit… but I definitely can't get 2 days of anything other than maybe purely standby.

Maybe it's because I'm using a custom ROM, but with light to medium usage (10-30 minutes phone calls, 20 minutes browsing over 3G, and about 30 mins use of various applications), I usually have between 80 and 85% after a full day's use.

When using it that way, I can last 3 full days (and I'm on the original battery).
On standby, it uses less than 1%/hour.

nah i charge mine every night thats pretty typical. it tends to drop 5 pct an hour just by being on and maybe getting a few texts. this is on different roms and radios. my touch pro always lasted about the same too
