HTC HD3 specs? Unbelievable!

htchd3specs

Well, it seems the LG Apollo is not the only one with completely unbelievable specs.  Chinese site QQ.com has posted what they believe is the specs of the HTC HD3, and some of them, particularly the screen size and resolution, seem frankly unbelievable. At 4.5 inches and 1280×800 the screen would be more than 720p, which makes it rather useful that the 1.5 Ghz Snapdragon powered device also comes with HDMI out.

On the other hand, upgrades like WIndows Mobile 7, 8 Megapixel Xenon flash and even the purported 4G support would seem almost mandatory.  Both WIMAX and LTE  is pushing it a bit.

Do you believe this is real, given the recent rumours of HTC spoofing? Let us know below.

definitely NOT real, this spec originally came from a deleted thread at xda-developer…

  • wookash

Both these and Apollos's specs have one major issue – they're too good to be true. Creating a perfect device, such as this one, would be a suicide from a marketing point of view. Xenon flash and such a huge battery are especially crazy – it's HTC, guys, they don't do huge batteries and camera-centric devices!

Besides, is it possible to fit a screen even bigger than the HD2 on a handheld?

  • BiG

    1280 x 800 on 5" display = =" you can Imaging the font size… this is not real = ="

    • GP007

Uhh, you can have higher DPI for text, I mean Windows does it on the desktop so why not do the same for WM7? Text isn't that much of an issue here.

  • Jos Dewey

Whatever idiot wrote this up doesn't even know the difference between GB and GHz so I would give this much credence.

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/Lennard Lennard

yes, my athena houses a 5inch screen, and it's made by htc.

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/Lennard Lennard

I don't think it's all real, if I'm going to believe that any of it is true, I would go with 78 percent true.

    • kangu

did you know that 76% of all statistics are made up?

  • http://www.jayceooi.com Jayce

    Agreed. :)

  • Jos Dewey

Are you sure it's not 79 percent?

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/l3v5y l3v5y

    A good point…

I'm going with this is rubbish.

  • GP007

    It's 78.55% true!

  • Baffo

    This is not a smartphone

    >5" = Tablet / Netbook / MID

    IMHO

  • Chris

Perhaps its not quite true, but the specs shouldnt be far from that. A real 720P screen, HD recording and playback and a faster snapdragon are assured. HDMI would be nice, but im not sure a 4.5 inch screen is needed unless its completely edge to edge. That would be a lovely looking device.

  • Brian

That screen size is 4,5 not 4.5 so it may mean the screen is going to be in the range of 4 to 5 inches.

    • EludiumQ36

Math lesson: 4,5 is the Euro-Asian way of designating decimals – it's 4.5 in US/UK.

  • Baffo

    4,5 in europe means 4.5.
the number should be 4-5 to indicate a range

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/Strangerx Strangerx

Too good to be true. If it was true than HTC wouldn't have to launch any phone after that for quite some time, it would smash our HD2s to stoneage, lol.

If it indeed comes out with those specs (and I highly doubt it) then I would only buy it if the device wouldn't be bigger than the HD2. 4.5" screen? woah, 4.3" is enough, even though they could have extended the HD2's screen a little bit by removing the HTC logo and the space it's on…

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=5401995 Christopher Hippolyte

The storage specs are defintely possible. Take the Omnia 16GB or the Nokia N97 32GB, both have large storage and come with microSD slots.
Why did you wtf to USB 2.0? Its not like they claimed 3.0, which isn't even out yet.

But yea, 4.5 is too big, its encroaching into tablet territory (although I was wrong when I said 4.3 was too big as well)

      • http://intensedebate.com/people/Strangerx Strangerx

nvm, the 1GB ROM and the 16GB Internal Memory confused me. I thought that would be the same, hence why it made me wonder why advertise the same thing twice with different numbers and then even add a microSD-slot into the device.

@USB2.0, well that would mean the device has a normal USB2.0-connector, no mini or micro-one. That makes no sense, it needs a lot more space than mini- or microUSB and doesn't have a big advantage over the smaller ports.

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/mohsen7x8 mighty

Doesn't even say what the CPU model code is. QSD8672 pr what?? I bet the faker didn't know these codes existed! lol…

  • Dave

    I want to believe, but…

  • ganondolf

these are probably made up but i would say the specs are about right for a november released phone as there is a phone hardware war starting. the only thing off seems to be the screen res. ram and cpu seems expected to me. if the google phone has a 1ghz cpu and 512mb of ram, a year from now to double the ram and and .5ghz of a cpu is not much

  • Moritz

i don't know why it is necesarry do build a device with so gigh specs the iPhone is blazingly fast with less than the half of the power … it is the system and not the device around the system which should be fast

    • Jos Dewey

Yeah, but the iPhone doesn't do anything other than run one single application at a time – doesn't require much power.

And it's not feasible for any other company to create the same ecosystem as Apple has… sure, there's benefits like tight software/hardware integration but there's many lame downsides and aside from that it just won't work the way other companies are set up.

But, yeah, I don't think the iPhone's crappy homescreen created entirely of icons and nothing else takes a lot of processing power. The iPhone OS might look flashy, but it actually can't do much as it was intended for idiots, so it doesn't take much to make it seem snappy.

Plus, you are just saying what you've said because the 3Gs doesn't have a 1GHz processor. Once the next iPhone comes, likely with a much faster processor, then you will update your very astute argument to saying anything faster than that new iPhone is overkill. Just like how that 2MP camera was good enough when the iPhone 2G was on sale, and 3MP was good enough for the 3Gs and when the next iPhone comes with 5MP every Appletard will just revert to saying 5MP is good enough even though most have moved to 8MP now.

    • pedro

shut it you full i have the iPhone and hd2 and hd2 is the best of the 2 coz my 3gs crashes all the time and to fix it after crashes i have to take the buttery and you say iPhone is blazingly fast when my hd2 never crashed on me before

  • AS147

    Totally bogus IMHO

  • http://www.misutsu.com Misutsu

The specs of HD2 are already unbelievable, so why not ?

  • Who?

    Sounds like a good netbook.

  • NuShrike

Using out of date hardware — doesn’t even support SDXC, GPS, nor AM-OLED. Only thing possibly new is the new Snapdragon shrink cpus. Most 13,3″ laptops are already at 1280×800 with great viewability.. so it’s overkill at 4,5″.

  • nudude

this has about as much a chance of seeing the light of day as sarah Palin has of being the next President of the United States, oh wait

  • yupii

ye great specs and i bet it big more than n97 :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/shahmeer.mariappan Shahmeer Mariappan

before you know it, people would be putting their netbooks near their ears and talkin..
wat the world of mobiles have come into nowadays..

things are suppose to get more smaller and compact rather than bigger and bigger especially about things which you're carrying around all day.

The HD2 i'm even having a hard time holding it securely whilst now having a 4.5" on the palm of my hand, they better have gorilla glass for the screen because this makes it more bigger and heavier when it falls off your hands.

The battery should be above 2000mhA for the processor of that size. My 3 year old dopod D810 is already having 1500mhA and I have the choice of upgrading it to 2400mhA if I wanted to.

  • llcools

well.. i do believe the specs, as HD1 was half of HD2,why can't HD3 be double of HD2?
and always exact a year between the releases of the HD's.

but this only scares the crap out of me.. as it's like letting fall a new born baby from 6ft if this HD3 slips out your hand,,,

  • Steveiowa

L o l on the Baby drop ! I can relate. I import these HTC phones. I just got an email today (6/4/10) from my supplier. Shows me this phone is now availabe to me. Didn't look at the spec. sheet. (Tired:11:30pm) But when I saw HD3, I sat up straight in my chair ! Im having one put on my next order tomorrow. Should have it in 6 days. GSM or CDMA is my first question? I will not use a WM7 phone, but may sell the heck out of them ? Stay tuned………

    • Lying cunt

Love how you made this up

  • Steveiowa

I have had time to check on the Spec's from my supplier. The sheet I was sent, matches the one above. I placed an order for one, to come along with my other phones, on my next order. It will arrive 6/14/10 So, stay tuned here, and I will give another update then. I will love to compare it to the HTC Evo ! I also found another phone on the list, that I never heard of before? Maybe Europe only so far? Can't remember the name right now? But was a 3.7" screen, and only a .5 Gh processor, so….. not so Cool : – )

    • EricFulashet

What operating system does it have?

  • JohnBaldock

So as it turns out. it's now the 14th and guess what. You're full of shit.

    • Cameron

      Lol, John you're awesome!!!!!!!!!!

  • hvn

I just recently check on the qualcomm and they do have the QSD6672 1.5ghz 3rd generation spec. for this chipset.
    a) The chipset is confirmto be existing

The EVO phone is already 4.3", so what HTC does is increase the screen to be larger to 4.5" but the width of the phone is still smaller then the EVO. Just the touchscreen is more on the phone…
    b) This one is confirm to be existing
4G with LTE is correct cause ATT & Verizon is going toward LTE 4G which run up to 100mps; I saw a video sometime ago with the LTE 4G existing.
    c) 4G should be confirm to be existing.
Front Camera should be exist because the htc EVO phone already have it.
    d) Video Call & Chat & 8MP camera existing
Ram/Rom memory at 1GB; most coming powerful hardware phone are running this spec. too.
    e) This Ram/Rom memory existing hint: htc EVO already run 1GB ROM
32GB microsd; not need to say; we all should know that this is existing.
f)32gb external memory slot existing (currenty the HD2 already running it)

The only thing that I can not find existing is the resolution 1280 x 720. However, I do know that Microsoft stated that the Zune HD & live xbox included in the Windows Phone 7 and therefore I think this resolution is could potentially exist. Since most of the other specification is stated to be existing.

  • JohnBaldock

Windowsphone7, the operating system, Does not support the resolution 1280×720.

    End of discussion

    • Tseven_HD2

There is still time before the HD3 release date to write an update for the screen size though aye?

Or has Microsoft stated they will not update this OS? …. thats fuc___ suicide for them, lol, you need to wake John, nothing is written in stone

  • Flashmore
