Is the HTC HD7 real?

What have we here? Apparently a leaked O2 spread sheet shows the mythical HTC HD2 successor arriving on O2 on the 18th October, just in time for the Windows Phone 7 launch.

What do our readers expect from this hopefully amazing device, if real? Let us know below.

So they're just skipping #3-6 and going with 7 cuz of WP'7' and so on? I'm fine with that really but where are the specs and stuff? It's about time we get more device leaks guys.

Yep, pretty odd numeric system HTC's got.

It would be quite nice, in my opinion, if HTC tried to make a top of the line experience associated with each release of Windows Phone, i.e. HD7 for WP7, HD8 for WP8 whenever that comes etc. It would bring the platform a little prestige for it to have a stand-out example of how good it can be with each iteration, similar to how with each major OS release Apple makes a new iPhone so there's something visibly different as well as functionally to generate interest.

Besides… the specs will be the same for most phones on WP7 for the forseeable future, so a premium, super-sexy device would have no need to become outdated until a new OS release and the consequent spec changes.

Oh god I hope you're wrong. That things just nasty looking and wouldn't represent a worthy upgrade to the original Touch HD let alone the HD2.

I AM BUYING THAT SHIT!!! (Even though im in the US) I mean all HD's have been great and brought something new to the market… HD1 thin, and big screen. HD2, Thinner, Faster, Bigger screen. HD7… WP7 and some new hardware… I am guessing either Dual Core processor or 1.3Ghz and a SLCD display or Super AMOLED and some other good stuff. But I quite frankly could care less as far as Spec sheet if the device looks like CRAP.

you do understand that hd2 came to market before droid x right? HD2 was selling while droid x was just a dirty thought!

I haven't seen hardware yet worthy of the HD3/7… All this waiting, the hardware better be thin, 4.3" + screen, video call, and most important a glass screen. The plastic face is screen is done! If they just make the HD2 and change the name and buttons, I'd be happy. You hear me?
