HTC January revenue down 17% YoY, however high hopes for Q2

HTC has posted January 2009 revenue of US$297 million, down 16.8% from a year ago. HTC also admitted to narrowly missing their projections for Q4 2008, missing their NT$48 billion target by NT$0.6 billion.

Looking forward to the rest of Q1 2009, HTC expects only low single digit growth, blamed on the global slow-down. However more optimistically than most, they predict a rebound in Q2 2009, on the back of a slew of new products being released into the market expecting double digit growth in this period.
