HTC neither confirms nor denies 576MB of RAM

hoss_n2 has contacted HTC support with regards to the 576MB of RAM, and has got an answer that basically says nothing…

does the world wide htc hd2 has a really hidden 576 ram as some one in xda developers has flashed a radio and it seems to work now our devices now show 576 rams and wh were successful to fill ram that we couldn’t fill before we could fill upto 443 mb of ram that we couldn’t fill before flashing the radio my question now does we really has 576 om ram but was hidden for a technical reason or it is all fake and here is a picture of mu device after i fill the ram

Hi Hossam, We are unable to confirm these rumours at this time, please monitor our support pages for a formal response to this query. I must caution you that if you use any of the ROM’s on XDA developers you have likely voided your warranty and any repairs to your device will be chargeable. Best REgards Mike HTC

So, we may have 576MB or we may not, but HTC aren’t going to tell us yet! Do you think there is 576MB of RAM or not?

Maybe yes maybe not.
I don't have that level of knoledge..yet.. But don't we have a few geniuses here and at XDA who can just pop up the phone and with their hardware and software tools find that out in minutes? We can do that in a PC. Is it that difficult on a phone?

Numerous people have opened the device to see which chips are there, but as of yet, no-one actually knows what the chips do exactly…

Hynix haven't got public data sheets describing the, and there aren't labels on the hardware saying "576MB" or anything like that.

The 576 MB ram are real. What´s more interesing now, if we all have 1 GB ROM also (i bet, yes) and how to enable. Releases of HD2 in US hopefully bring more information when analysing this rom.

I don´t understand why all this rumour about that. We have 576 mb and it is proved. Why bored the HTC guys with this . if in future "we" find out that it is as 1gb…even better! HTC can do what they want with the device that they make. Make them do what they can best, good PDA like HD2 , XDA people will do the rest!!

His answer confirms that the HD2 is going to have WM7. That's why they hide the RAM and why they don't tell why

When the T-Mo version is around then someone can buy one and open it up, we just need to compare the hardware..

Anyway, I guess HTC didn't understand what the guy was trying to ask lol. Also lol'ing at 'do not use ROM's from xda-devs', I bet that Mike is sporting a Custom ROM on his HTC phone

I'm sorry but I think it's pretty "naive" and irresponsible to ask HTC directly a question like that in such a obnoxious manner.

dude the hd2 has 576ram end of story, flash the asian latest radio and it will unlock the extra 128mb of ram period, its not a rumor its FACT!

About the 1Gb Rom, there was a statement from HTC that T-Mobile specifically made that upgrade so I don't think we'll see 1Gb Roms appear on our HD2s.
