HTC ROM Upgrades!

It seems HTC has decided now is the week to issue updates. I have a suspicion some of these aren’t particularly new, but here’s a list!

Advantage X7510 3.61 (T-Mobile UK)

Let us know if any of these are really out of date, as I have a suspicion they aren’t new, but they’ve just been posted now.

Downloaded the new ROM for my TP2 and it certainly is new. Sadly no 6.5.3 but it does update it from 2.1 to 2.5 sort of as it doesn't contain all the goodness from the HD2 ROM.

While i'm enjoying the lovely new features i'm not loving the lack of the HTC task manager and i'm definately not loving the extra hit on RAM. I thought it was low before after the 6.5 update but now it's down to 70mb. If we ever get a 6.5.x update at some point we'll barely have enough RAM to even open the programs at this point.

You can install the HTC task manager by downloading the CAB from XDA.

Regarding the RAM, have you tried deleting some stuff you don't need? Like the default wallpapers, or the duplicate of rings/alerts in the WindowsRings folder.

yeah thats why i went back to stock 6.1 and tf3d; the tp2 isnt built for this rom the memory just isnt there. the eye candy was cool, but not at the sacrifice of function… much like wm7. just placed and order for a nexus one a few days ago, should be ariving any time. wm is nice but its dated and wp7 is a bust in my opinion. at least the first few releases. I will keep an eye on it of course but I am not going to bank on it.

Seems strange then that they've made the rom available for it when it clearly can't handle it. I've had it crash and freeze up on me numerous times now. I'm going to try out some themes for 2.5 just to see how they look but then i'm rolling back to 6.1 as the 6.5 rom was still very buggy.

As far as I can see this is just the same rom that was issued by T-mobile for the upgrade to WM6.1, so far not discovered anything new. Had to give it a go though on the off chance.

The TP2 ROM is a new release but it was leaked back in feb. I personally have been using it since 18th feb, about a month ago.
