The Verge have cornered Joe Belfiore at CES and managed to extract a 14 minute interview from him. While Joe did not give up much, and refused to comment on upcoming OS updates, he did suggest Microsoft will have something to say at Mobile World Congress, which starts in about 30 days time. It is likely that we will hear more there about the Tango OS update, which is rumoured for a Q2 roll-out.
Joe also commented at length on the issue the apparent lag in device specs on Windows Phone compared to Android, noting that they are aiming for a quality experience vs simply engaging in a specs war with Android, noting that sticking at present with a WVGA screen for example allows them to save battery and use more economic processors.
