Joe Belfiore confirms Microsoft working on a WP 7.8 Live Tile fix

On twitter Joe Belfiore has confirmed Microsoft is working on a fix for the bugs in the Windows Phone 7.8 start screen, which can cause excessive data usage, battery drains and of course dead live tiles.

The question of course remains about how the fix will be pushed out to Windows Phone 7.8 users – it will likely have to come via the Zune client, and require the cooperation of carriers, so may not happen as fast as we wish.

The good news of course is that only a percentage of Windows Phone 7.5 users have been upgraded to Windows Phone 7.8, (estimated to be around 16%) and the rest will presumably get the fixed update when updating eventually resumes.
