LG Fathom confirmed for May 2010, Verizon

lg_logo The BGR has confirmed once again that the LG Fathom, a Windows Mobile 6.5 slider, will be coming to USA’s biggest carrier in the next 4 weeks.

The latest leak does not confirm any specs, but an earlier account has the device featuring a 3.2 inch WVGA screen and 3.2 megapixel camera in a landscape slider form factor.

I'm not a big fan of WP7 by a long shot, but man, Microsoft are seriously shooting themselves in the foot.

What's it been, over two months already since WP7 was announced? And we're still like 6 months away from first devices hitting stores, and no the focus seems to be shifting temporarily back to WM Classic… this is good for people like me, but I'm assuming most people have already lost interest in the next Windows Phone. And that's without anything exciting happening in the iPhone or Android camp… those are both due for updates which will come before WP7.

And we know Microsoft will not be able to get people by good marketing because they haven't got that in them. The only hope they had was the initial excitement people had for the next mobile offering from Microsoft… now that the beans have been spilled I really wonder if the masses will even notice when WP7 devices actually start shipping.

Meanwhile more WM6.5 are coming out… face it, unless it's some all-around awesome phone like the HD2 people will not be swayed. Despite the lack of specs, sounds like the Phantom is basically the forgotten LG Expo… WM6.5 slider with a 'meh' sized screen.

Stop fragmenting the market with more BS products nobody wants… anybody who wants a WM Classic phone already has one.

The Cosmos is already out and has a much better keyboard and screen then the nv generations however lower mega pixel camera makes no sence and without true internet software the cosmos is geared for limited sms features so for mms and ems I will turn to the Fathom hope its not over priced in the into offer like the motorolla startac was 999.00 and many bought it through Cellular One Ouch
