LG Pacific now also exposed on Video

Android.com.pl also seems to have had their hands on the LG Pacific, heading to AT&T.  The video above shows boot up and a brief tour.

The website says the screen is 3.2 inches (which is likely wrong, given that its below Microsoft’s chassis size), and note the handset is about as heavy as the Motorola Droid.

They also comment on the unusual location of the shift and function keys outside of the keyboard.

See some more pictures after the break.

Wow, some really goofy design choices there…

Start button on bottom instead of in line with the other two, the function key looks like a pain to use, massive wasted space at the bottom of the screen, no dedicated number keys row, etc.

The Dell is still the leader! Although if HTC comes out with a Touch Pro 3 (even if it was literally exactly the same as the TP2 but with upgraded specs) that would be tempting too.

    • GearSecond

It would be so great if HTC would make a Touch Pro 3 for all the carriers. I couldn't agree more with what you said.

    • Drewidian

Would LOVE and buy a HD 3 PRO!!! An HD3 with the Touch Pro2 Keyboard (which I can easily say is the best hw keyboard on any platform) would be killer. I'm still hoping that the recently released pics of the HTC device will have have the slide out speaker one way and Keyboard the other way. If it has a > 4" screen I would go for it immediately. Add Verizon and get rid of that chromey look and go with a solid black look and I'm in!

I don't understand, why does Engadget keep saying these have the QSD8650As when the english version of the site clearly states just QSD8650s? Are they too lazy to scroll down to the english version?

Anyways, both these devices look like typical LG styling(imo). I absolutely love the separated start button. I don't really understand why people say thes phones have horrible designs. It's LG trying to differentiate itself in one of the most restrictive h/w chassis we've seen. Give them a break. The chrome accents on the phone are nice. Does anyone else notice the slightly metro look to the <enter>, <delete>, and <shift> keys? Also a lot of landscape sliders do NOT have dedicated numeral buttons, they take up space, make the keys smaller, and therefore harder to press. Also, if I remember correctly the LG Panther's keyboard is set up in a similar manner. The h/w specs are the reason almost definitely.

Hate it. Looks like a kids toy.

Ugly….. How come most of the WP7 phones we saw so far are in such designs?! C'mon! Do not follow Dumbdroid design…. It sucks! Can't we have more professional looking phones like Dell Lightning??

  • Slayr007

So I compared the two keyboards and the biggest difference is this <Vib> button on the panther that as you can see is not on the pacific. The symbols on the homerow are also different. However, I do believe that that is because the panther was a piece of test h/w. I have a feeling that they have changed the standard for what the keyboard layout looks like. (how do I add a photo to comments?)

LG will not be getting my money. I'm holdin' out for Dell or Asus to bring something to the table. I don't want a physical keyboard but Dell, so far, is the only one with the best lookin' Windows Phone.

I think LG will not be getting my money again bought one couple months ago and was very disappointed
