Fortunately Skype is not the only voip service today. We may be all more familiar with it but if Skype decided to switch camps then so be it, there are still plenty of option for internet telephony, many of them suiting the end users needs. So I rather don't make a drama out of Skype "lies".

Skype have just committed corporate suicide. Nobody really cares about Android. But WM is still used by millions and WM7S will eventually displace iPhone just like Windows displaced Mac. If people can't use Skype freely and need to be tied to data plan this opens up the market for a replacement for Skype. technically its not that difficult and the barriers are now quite low.

They've just blown it.

This is just sad.

People use Skype and other VOIP products to get around the network monopolies (like Telstra in Australia) and restrictions imposed by these greedy carriers. If Skype go to bed with these same carriers, then what is the point of using their product, as the big monopolistic networks will ruin any cost saving gained by using this type of service.

Oh well. Skype was always too restrictive and expensive for me. I think I will just stick to my VOIP provider, which is cheaper, and works with any of the many available SIP compatible apps available for Windows Mobile.
