Live Mesh client for Windows Mobile now available

The Live Mesh client for Windows Mobile is now available but only for users in USA and UK (for now at least). I would have more to say about the software, but so far I have not been able to sign in to the service.

Try your luck by downloading the client by visiting http://m.mesh.com/ with your Windows Mobile smartphone. Hopefully it will work a bit better tomorrow.

So, I installed the client on my PC, and set up a mesh.

I can sync between my PC and the live mesh folder.

But when I go to the http://m.mesh.com site, I just get a WAP version of the site, allowing me to browse my mesh folders in a text format, and access the files. I cannot find a download anywhere for a real WinMo client, so there doesn’t appear to be an actual way to sync with your smartphone yet…

Anyone find where to download the real WinMo client?

OK, got it working, had to initiate the add mobile device from the mesh.com site first. The mobile client is early early beta. It creates a default folder that doesn’t link to your My Pictures folder. It took me a number of tries for each step along the way of installing the client, registering it with the account, creating a folder to sync to, and currently it’s trying to sync the files for the first time and just timing out.

Lots of issues to work out yet for certain. Looks like it’s going to be very cool when they get this polished up though.

I rarely bother taking my photos off my phone to my computer, because it requires manual copying of files, and I have to go though and see what i”ve already gotten on my PC, etc etc. I don’t manage my phone pics the same way as I do my normal pics on my PC, because I just snap a shot here and there of random stuff, as opposed to having my digital camera along on a specific “event” that I can create a folder for on my PC.

This will be a much more sensible way of managing cell phone photos.

How do I ‘initiate the add mobile device’ from mesh.com? It still says ‘coming soon’ next to windows mobile in the add device section…very confused! Would love to give this a try! Dashwire.com is a similar app btw…it syncs your phones photos, txts, contacts, etc to a website…but obviously not to a mesh.
