Microsoft-Backed Rockstar Consortium Planning To Sell Patents

Rockstar consortium which was created by Microsoft, Apple and other technology companies to acquire patents from Nortel Networks in 2011. Rockstar Consortium won the bid for $4.5 billion against the rival group which included Google, Intel and others. Bloomberg today reported that Rockstar is in discussions to sell a part of those patents in order to monetize their investment in this intellectual property. The group, called Rockstar Consortium, has recently been in conversations with possible buyers about the patents, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the information isn’t public….
