Microsoft employees to get WP7 devices?

Another snippet of Twitter news!

This time, it’s a Microsoft employee saying that all employees of the software giant will receive a WP7 device.

The word of mouth advertising that having 90,000 extra users could give would be impressive, and compared to a lot of the expenditure of Microsoft, it’s a tiny amount to spend on making a workforce happy (the marketing man inside my head wants me to say “incentivise the workforce”), and boosting the public awareness of the new OS.

Anyone in MS able to confirm that?

MS cutting off reimbursement for non-Windows Phone expenses is fantastic too.

It's an embarrassment to MS for an MS employee to pull out an iPhone in front of customers, at work or home.

Unfortunately, after dealing with a lot of MSFT employees, IMHO, the number of "Power Users" working for MSFT that are "tech geeks" that could be considered "power users" is disappointingly small. This ain't the Microsoft of the late 80's. Real power users would have stuck with WM6.5, rather than buying a half-VGA iPhone…

I'm curious how this will work. Does that mean they will all get one on launch day or as they become available? The reason I ask is because there is a large MS campus here in Fargo, ND and AT&T doesn't offer service here.

I think it's as and when devices become available on networks and in regions. So, MS employees won't be getting devices before everyone else.
