Fan-based Nokia Con event in Japan on the 27th July

Japan is not one of Nokia or Windows Phone’s best markets, with Windows Phone having a market share between 0 and 1% in the region, according to Kantar numbers.

It seems Microsoft is working to improve this however, and will be holding an event showing off Windows Phones hosted by mobile phone market expert Yamane Yasuhiro.

Attendees will be able have a hands-on Nokia’s latest smartphones in what must be rather exotic devices for Japanese consumers, with most major carriers no offering Windows Phones.

The venue only has a capacity for 60 people, indicating once again how small Windows Phone in Japan is. Entry is free. To be one of the lucky attendees register here.

Update: We spoke with KONDO Reishi, and it turns out the event is in fact a long-running fan-based conference, not formally supported by Microsoft and Nokia, but with some support from Japanese journalists and IT Media.  It still sounds like a great time however, so we suggest true fans still apply for tickers here.
