Microsoft reveals the Samsung SGH-i937, Fujitsu, Acer and ZTE Mango phones

Update: We have been asked to remove the video by Microsoft.

That was rather unexpected, but fortunately we were able to capture Microsoft showing off a series of brand new handsets, including the hightly desirable thing and light Samsung SGH-i937. The device clearly has a front facing camera.

Other handsets shown off was the playful waterproof Fujitsu handset, and the two cheap and cheerful ZTE and Acer handsets.

What do our readers think of the devices shown off? Let us know below.

MS has its own ways of leaking hardware info. No fanfare, nothing..Just as if its another day in their life.

    • yves707

sadly you are absolutly right…. look at an apple presentation and then please look at ANY ms presentation. a catastrophy….. i’m especially thinking about this british back room they presented mango!! its really time to fire someone or better a bunch of people over there in redmond!!!!

      • appie flappie

Why should MS follow the Apple way. Apple has it easy. They present ONE PHONE!

MS has not the responsiblity to promote phones. They just show us the world that Brands are working on phones. Nothing else.

        So please just shut up.

        • yves707

do you x#?!?# have any clue how to do good consumer marketing?!?!
does ms have any clue at the moment?!?! the figures say NO!!!

so, you and ms should think about another approach, about how to create excitement, how to crap attention, etc. do you really think that those (in my opinion very unspectacular) new devices were presented in an somehow attractive way??! this was the first officical appaearance of those new devices and the reaction in the net?!?! almost nothing!!! now please compare this to an apple (I HATE APPLE by the way!!!) announcement! sure, a lot of noise for nothing!! but this is how selling works. and this is why people want to have an iphone and dont ask for (the better) wp….

        • yves707

update on the update: does it need more prove of their incompetence?!?! ;) ))

      • Aweasd

who cares? its good ms dont do it the apple way with “amazing”, “changes all”, faboulous bullshit…

The Samsung looks great, although plasticky. I’m guessing the others are lower-end handsets, although I do love the design of the ZTE. It looks as if it was manufactured and designed by Microsoft on the front. But this is great, I guess more people are going to buy if the market gets flooded by Windows Phones, like Android, but without the crappy quality of Android. I still would’ve preferred for Microsoft to build their own handset, but I guess this is good too.

I think you hit it on the head. Come November if MS makes a large push to fill stores with WP7 handsets, people will be unable to ignore them. Currently most AT&T stores might just have one tiny wall section for WP7, they should have a giant setup and display like they do for the bazillion Android phones they have.

I got in the mail a “magazine” from ATT (my long time carrier) touting mobile possibilities and a bunch of innovative no phone wireless solutions for medical monitoring and other stuff but showcasing pictures of their (smart)phone offerings an LG feautre phone several pics of the atrix a BB torch on the back cover awhite iphone4 and absolutely ZERO WP devices. I was scratching my head for a while.

I hope “phenomenal screen resolutions” means higher screen resolutions.

    • http://fxfp.com/ Alex F.

Doubt it. There is not a hint of support for anything other than 480×800 in Mango SDK.

      • Anonymous

We could get surprised, but I think you’re right. Most likely won’t see new resolutions until Tango or Apollo and qHD is most likely the optimal res for devices of this size (4-5″).

    • appie flappie

I think he means SAMOLED PLUS which has rbg matrix.

Wow this is Samsung Galaxy S2 hardware for sure! The front facing camera is on the left side on the SGS2 like the phone shown in the video unlike the SGS witch have front facing camera on the right :P

That waterproof design in multiple colors (assuming here) would be a nice addition to the mix. I bet that would be an attractive feature for some people. Nice thinking outside the box a bit there.

The Samsung WPMango phone will definitely be my next phone for sure if Nokia doesn’t come super hard with their Flagship phone. This is an exact replica of the Samsung Galaxy S II’s hardware that I wanted, except without the Android on it.

Super AMOLED Plus, 4.3 inch screen, hopefully Orion Processor, and WPMango is a great combination of a great phone that I will definitely buy and many others will just because of all of the superiority it holds.

I love that Samsung phone look too! If it will have greats specifications, it will be my next phone

    • appie flappie

Keep on Dreaming. The ORION processor is not supported by MS so there wont be orion in there. The only dual-core we will see is from Qualcomm but it wont suprise me if Dual-core wont be coming until next year.

And WP7 doesnt need dual-core like Android does.

  • http://profiles.google.com/arvydasg.93 Arvydas Grušeckas

Well, I want that Samsung phone! Will Microsoft tell us the date they will be released?

    • Asda

      only samsung can tell this.

      • walletless

        Only AT&T/Sprint/Verizon/T-Mobile/USCellular can tell this

    • Asdaq

i dont know…the samsung device looks interesting and the fujitsu “outdoor” one is intersting, too.

    • http://www.twitter.com/wixostrix WixosTrix

Same here. That Samsung one looks like any other Android phone and pre iPhone 4 devices.

  • Ubaid A

The three buttons look like physical buttons :D
    My Next phone DEFFO!

  • Herbert

    Ugly. It looks so much like an iPhone ! :( :( :( :( :( :(

  • Jimbob

Dear Samsung, thanks for making my next phone. Now if you could release it next month when my upgrade is due i’ll be very pleased.

  • majg

Geez, I’m about to buy the HTC 7 pro from US Cellular….
Glad it will be easy to cut and run when I want to get a Nokia or Samsung. I’m guessing first quarter of next year in the US.

    • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/CW3SETFCKRB5NRLX5QZK3EMRWY Joe

Samsung could be this year before Christmas Nokia says only I WP before 2012 probability of release in US not high. but only they know should be easy to get one model with multiple gsm radios as needed depending on location.

  • Monkey D Black

that samsung phone looking just right.

The Samsing one looks sweet but i’m anxious to see what Nokia has to offer!

Any word about a 4G Mango phone for Verizon?

Any word about a 4G Mango phone for Verizon?

  • Venustus

wp 7 has arguably the best looking smart phone interface. There’s nothing round about it. Hardware manufacturers need to mimic this. All wp7 phones look to generic and to android like. Nokia please hurry up.

honestly, the only thing i might want is a better camera and more disc space and a better screen but the biggest priority will be the disc space and camera. We all know windows phone runs buttery smooth so with or with no dual-core, the thing is still smooth so before you turn yourselves into fandroids always seeking more specs, take a bite of mango

  • http://twitter.com/ymala1 Yasir Alam

Man… is there anywhere I can catch this video? By the time I started looking they’d all been pulled….

  • Nachi

all these phones have hardware buttons .. i thought Mango doesn’t need any hardware button as shown in that Nokia SeaRay device .. Anybody knows any details about it ?
