Microsoft sending Mango to the media

Microsoft is holding an invitation-only VIP event on the 24th to launch Windows Phone 7.5.

It seems Microsoft it taking the Mango event all too literally, sending out actual mangoes to accompany the invitation.

Mango is expected to bring a whole host of new features to bring Windows Phone 7.5 close to parity with other, more mature smartphone operating systems. I get it, but Its not really MS’s fault. Carriers are blocking these updates. Except for the samsung omnias. i do believe those are rolling out now.

The schedule may say so but that doesn’t make it true. I’m still stuck on 7004. Haven’t even received the Feb update.

once again, it IS Microsoft’s fault because they allowed the carriers the power to block when the carriers had a clear and consistent history when it comes to updates, in that they ALWAYS block, for at least a while. They did it with windows mobile too. But microsoft seem to think that’s okay, that a year with no significant improvements is alright with users.

Apple always manage to get their updates out, and to everyone at once. WP7 doesn’t exist in a vacuum, and that they still gave the carriers the power to block even after they told everyone that they didn’t last year is testament to the problems over at Redmond.
