More evidence for Nokia Windows Phone 7 handsets

Windows Phone 7 for Nokia?

Eldar Muntazin, Mobile-Review.com boss and scrounge of Nokia, has leaked another Nokia presentation which suggests Nokia still had its eye on Windows phones.

The presentation by Jukka Kiiskinen on Nokia’s strategy in the field of operating systems and services in 2010 features places Windows at the same level as Symbian and Maemo. Eldar claims the slide explicitly does not refer to Nokia’s Windows 7 netbooks, saying in fact that Nokia is replacing those with Maemo devices.

Apparently people have forgotten that nokia and microsoft agreed to bring the silverlight runtime to nokia phones. This might allow them to even run winpho7 apps

This Nokia presentation shows on which platforms Qt and WRT are available.

Qt is available on Windows Desktop, Windows CE, and Windows Mobile 6.x. It won't be available on Windows Phone 7 because it is a C++ framework for native development and it is not possbile to do native development on Windows Phone 7.

WRT is the Nokia Web Run Time and enables using web pages offline. WRT applications consist of HTML an JavaScript and can be used with any browser (but only online).

Every Summer a new rumor… remember when last year all blogs said that Nokia was ready to unveil an Android phone?
In this case I bet Nokia is simply going to make OVI services available to Windows Phones, following agreements that Nokia and Microsoft have had in the past already with Silverlight and Office applications.

You can already do Qt development (as this slide states) on Windows Mobile (and Windows 7) already with full support for OpenGLES 2, and mobility APIs that's shared across all their platforms, etc.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, instead of looking for Wimpy7s bumps in the wind.

I am a mobile developer and received an email from Forum Nokia, inviting for a workshop to learn how to create Widgets and more about QT.

This workshop is on 16th June in Mumbai and we just have two days for registration. So just wanted to know if any one knows more about this workshop or has attended any such workshop before.
