More HTC Leo/ HD2 information

Pocketnow has been tipped of to some more HTC Leo information.

According to them the name is confirmed as HTC HD2, the device is expected to arrive in the Netherlands by the end of October and will be between 550-600 Euros (around $800 and the same price as the Xperia X2)

One final titbit is that multi-touch gestures do not work in Pocket Internet Explorer, but is expected to work fine in Opera Mobile.

Basically HTC has implemented multi-touch in the same way that they implemented the zoom bar and previous iterations of non-screen, non-button controls in their Touch series.

It'll have a proprietary API that XDA-Devs and others might tap into, but basically as far as stock apps are concerned, it'll work in HTC's Album and Opera Mobile. I guess those are where it's most important, but the point is (just to clarify some earlier talk about MS having some role in this) that it's an HTC add-on layer just like the zoom bar and doesn't have native WM support in 6.x.

I'm surprised no-one else on the entire internet realised that yet.

It's quite obvious it's just HTC and their wonderful tricks. I just hope they release a slightly open API rather than what they did with regards to the accelerometer.

rad u are right, but all u need for using win mo 7 is available on this device, which means u can upgrade it and use win mo 7 without any restrictions.

ok…so the word is no US release even though i remember the HTC guy say they would be offering HTC phones worldwide….
i believe with winmo, its us US guys complaining about capacitive display more. i think i would start some kind of campaign if the they dont bless us with this phone
