MWC 10: Hands-on with the Garmin Nuvifone M10

Engadget has dropped into Barcelona and has met up Garmin, who gave them a look at the Garmin- Asus Nuvifone M10.

The WVGA Windows Mobile 6.5.3 handset performed well in their cursory tests, and as usual Engadget damned it with faint praise by saying

The M10, meanwhile, is reasonably sexy, but we prefer the A50′s simple good looks by the thinnest of margins. It’s obviously being billed as a slightly higher-end device than the A50 on account of the 5 megapixel cam (up from the A50′s 3) and the inclusion of a 3.5mm jack, but what really struck us was Windows Mobile 6.5.3 — obviously WinMo’s still got a ton of issues in its present-day form, but 6.5.3 takes the paradigm just about as close as it can be to finger-friendliness as possible. If you’re still a stylus kind of person, though, don’t worry — you’ve got one discreetly tucked around back.

Meh, screw Engadget and their rabi anti-Microsoft bias.

I was never a regular, but I stopped visiting altogether once Josh Todouchey decided to disable the comments for a few days to "let comments cool off" without making any mention of the fact that the reason most of their audience went apeshit was because for 3 weeks at least every other article was iPad related (not exxagrating here in the slightest, it really was that bad).

They're just such fanboys, it's sickening. "WinMo’s still got a ton of issues in its present-day form, but 6.5.3 takes the paradigm just about as close as it can be to finger-friendliness." Why can't WM ever be %100 percent finger friendly? Just because it's WM?

They admit 6.5.3 has come a long way, they admit it's really rather finger-friendly… but then they say, because it's WM it can't be that finger-friendly, so it's not saying much. Makes no sense whatsoever… do they know that under the hood Windows CE is not able to be as finger-friendly as iPhone or webOS? No, they don't know what's possible under the hood… they're just observational simpletons covering 'tech' for even simpler folks.

Engadget, Gizmodo, Kotaku and Joystiq seem to really really love AppleGoogle. I was shocked to find out that Gartenberg actually helped finance Gdgt.com and was even more shocked when I found out that Ryan Block (Gdgt.com) used to be part of Engadget.com… what a wonderful sphere of influence. lol

WIth the thread that triggered the comment shut off (allegedly) Ryan Block was the first to comment to mega hype the iPad, then it wall went downhill because many folks just simply thought it was a PRMarketing arm of Apple, themselves…

At the same time, there doesn't seem to be alot of MS favored sites out there. oh well.
