NFC Interaction WP8 app will let you launch apps using NFC stickers

One of the promises of NFC in Windows Phone 8 is being able to launch apps using NFC stickers, which are pretty cheap.

Microsoft does not however include any native feature to make this happen in Windows Phone 8, but fortunately the APIs to write NFC tags are fully open, allowing Mopius to use their NFC expertise to write NFC Interactor for Windows Phone 8.

Nfc Interactor is a powerful Near Field Communication tag reader / writer app, aimed at enthusiasts and developers. The app allows users to  analyse their real contents and will instantly tell you the writable tag size and parse standardized messages to human readable form.

Crucially it will also let you write your own NFC tags using a dynamic message editor – including Smart Posters, geo tags, social networks and LaunchApp tags.

imageThe app supports the following formats:

  • Smart Poster
  • URI
  • Text
  • Social Networks (Twitter, Facebook, Skype, etc.)
  • SMS
  • Telephone call
  • Geo Tags (Longitude & Latitude, for opening Maps)
  • LaunchApp (for Windows 8 & WP 8)
  • Android Application Record
  • Nokia Accessories
  • Custom records

The app is only $1.99 (£1.49) and can be found in the Windows Phone Store here.  The trial version is limited to reading 10 tags and writing 20 tags.
