NoDo in last stretch–Samsung Focus 1.4 to get update soon

The Samsung Focus is one of the best looking and most popular Windows Phone 7 handsets, so the irony of the handset being cursed with software update issues were not missed by anyone.

While most Windows Phone 7 handsets have been enjoying copy and paste and other NoDo improvements for a few months now the Samsung Focus 1.4 holdouts will finally have their day in the next week or so, with the NoDo update finishing testing and entering scheduling.

The update will be delivered in two parts back to back– first the 7008 and then 7392, which will encompass the NoDo 7390 update.

they did not have enough memory modules the ones they put in had some compatability issues with some coding in the nodo updat. Hopefully this means that v 1.3 will get 7392 security update as I dont have i9t yet and I have a 1.3 focus. I too hope that mango will be very smooth update and hopefully in just a month or so!

I’m confused. I have 7390; copy/paste, etc… Do I have NoDo or not? I’ve had it since I bought the phone 2 weeks ago from ATT.

What he meant was the latest update that happened in May (build 7392). While LG and HTC phones got that update, Samsung Focus didn’t get and we are still waiting. .

I see. What’s so special about the update? They mentioned copy/paste but that’s a function I’ve had since I first updated the phone weeks ago.

7392 is a security fix having to do with certificates. If you have NoDo, then the security patch is basically a non-event from the user’s point of view.
