Nokia Ace LTE Device Coming To AT&T On March-18th And Nokia Lumia 710 To Verizon In April

Just after few minutes The Verge posted their information about LTE Windows Phone device launch, Paul Thurrott from Winsupersite posted information about LTE Windows Phone devices he got from his sources. According to him, Nokia Ace LTE Device is coming to AT&T on March-18th, HTC Radiant, and Samsung Mendel will ship on AT&T before the middle of 2012. All these three device will be revealed at CES.

Also Nokia Lumia 710 is coming to Verizon in April and its not an LTE device. Bad news for non-AT&T network users so far ! !

This is actually GOOD news for Verizon customers. Practically every damn phone Verizon carries is $199 or $299. There are good opportunities for growth in the mid to lower-tier smartphone categories.

dude you really don’t understand what’s going on. Verizon does NOT have any faith on WP7 at all. this was their chance to get on board with a high end LTE device and they turned it down while AT&T gets all the best WP7. This is in no way good news to us Verizon customers currently stranded with the mediocre HTC Trophy only

If the reports today are true, Verizon has lost it. Arrogant and ignorant companies don’t win over the long term.

well piss this means that the “old” leaked roadmap is legit.  Q4 for Apollo is ruination.

I’m always confused why people expected an update cycle in 2012 any different than what we got in 2011. NoDo was Spring 2011, Tango is Spring 2012. Mango was Fall 2011, Apollo is Fall 2012

Look at the uservoice requests for Windows Phone. There is still a lot of things to do in WP7 to catch up with iOS and Android. And those two are getting better everyday, even copying good things from WP7.
WP7 needs to catch up while it still has an innovative interface and a unique service integration. MS needs to be faster.

        • Anonymous

iOS and Android aren’t getting better everyday, they are getting better once a year. You can argue that Android releases are more frequent, but if you look at non-Nexus devices they don’t get much more than a major update a year.

I expect Microsoft to catch up by providing a lot of content in the update (as they did with Mango), not necessarily providing a lot of updates. As we have seen, getting updates out isn’t exactly a simple process and is definitely not something they want to force on carriers and OEMs many times per year.

          • Endeavour 1934

I expect MS to release bug fixes (disappearing keyboard) once they have it sorted out, not every 6 months.
And do I need to remind you that even basic things like WiFi EAP-TLS connections (used by many bussiness and most universities in the world) are still not available on WP7 after one year in the market?
They really need to be faster.

          • Anonymous

Completely agree with you on this arguement! Microsoft needs to be much faster, especially with the enterprise features. Not many firms can leverage the features of Office and SharePoint on the Windows Phones if VPN and ability to have private app stores is not supported!

Microsoft needs to treat the phone division as a startup (less bureaucracy and more productivity) and yet pump up resources that it needs to get the job done faster! Politics won’t help!

What is this??? There has to be more to the story of why 90% of WP devices are only on one carrier. This just makes no sense.

But I’ll just take it as rumor for now about Verizon. That news just defies almost EVERYTHING they stand for and have stated.

guess this means I’ll be switching to At&t…. sigh.
    T-Mobile <- Android fanboy!

really unbelievable that Nokia would waste the time to make a CDMA only phone after verizon said explicitly they wanted LTE Windows Phones.  Makes WAY no sense….I’m starting to raise the BS flag on that one.

    • Anonymous

Why is it unbelievable that Nokia would make a CDMA WP device?  Has Samsung made a CDMA WP device in the more that one year they’ve been producing WP devices?  No.    It’s not a waste of time….at least Nokia and HTC made the attempt to get WP devices on Verizon’s network.    And it could simply mean that, given the fallout between Nokia and Verizon from the past, perhaps they are taking ‘baby steps’ to form a new relationship.

If Verizon had the opportunity to get on board with a Nokia LTE device, and declined, this is only a reflection of Verizon’s attitude toward WP…they simply aren’t interested in high end (LTE or not) WP devices, regardless of the oem.  That is all.  In that regard, yes, BS on Verizon’s part about wanting WP LTE devices.

  • http://twitter.com/lavux Luis™

I serioulsy don’t understand this. Verizon was quoted recenlty saying they asked MSFT for LTE support and they wanted to see a roadmap. Now they will carry a low-end phone, non-LTE, inMay, later than any of the other phones? First it was the mediocre HTC Trophy, tha came out in late May this year, now the Lumia 710? That’s a slap on MSFT’s face twice now. On March 18th I’m switching to AT&T for the Ace. Verizon can kiss my a**

So, AT&T gets 6 2nd Gen WP devices, 4 of them highend, and T-Mobile gets just 2 low/mid range devices.  WTF?  smdh

It’s pretty simple to see what’s going on. Verizon is in bed with Motorola/Google for their Droid line. Sprint has to push iPhone because of that ball breaking deal they signed. I’m still putting my money on Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 and Nokia in North America. CES Show in January should be interesting.

    • Jimbo

Windows Phone aside, Nokia doesn’t seem to be headed anywhere in North America.   Their fortunes look probably better in emerging markets and parts of Europe (i.e. not Western Europe).

Samsung and HTC are going to have to carry that ball forward in the U.S. and Western Europe for Microsoft’s mobile OS.

Here in Asia, the best WP 7.5 device available is the HTC Radar, specs are no match to most Android phones and the iPhone 4S, we badly want a Samsung Focus S but it’s not gonna be released here, we don’t care about the Nokia Lumia 800 or Nokia Lumia 710, both of which has no front cam, Asia has limited access to WP, it’s part of the reason why WP is not so popular here, take Samsung for instance, since 2010 they stopped distribution of WP to most countries here in Asia in favor of Android and Bada

  • Enflu3nza

and sprint people are sitting in the dark thanks to that bloody iCrap coming to our network. we want more WP7 but NOOOOO, we just get some iPhone 4S thats not bringing anything new to the table. its just a iPhone 4 on roids with some siri person.
and the mainstream market still buys them like crazy! sprint getting the iPhone was a huge slap to me since we havent gotten any good phones other than the GSII and Photon since. i really want AT&T now, atleast they have VARIETY.
