Nokia Lumia 800 unboxing

Due to the low light, the video should probably be more a guide to the contents of the box, rather than a good look at what they exactly look like.

The box contains the phone, wrapped in plastic, a quick start guide and manual, a free silicone case which is pretty nice, a USB sync and charge cable and a very small 2 prong charger, which are always annoying as you need an adaptor to plug them in anywhere.

They also contain some pretty poor headphones, which lack even foam covers, and do not have any volume or music controls, and may not even have a microphone.

Of course Nokia has the solution for this, offering Monster-branded headphones as colour-matched accessories.

The handset itself is of course amazingly beautiful. especially in black, where it reminds one very much of the monolith in 2001:Space Odyssey. Inside of course it is a pretty standard, even upper-midrange Windows Phone, but the appearance of the phone easily vaults it above most other contenders.

Um, the headset (according to a different unboxing) showed inline controls. Perhaps you should actually listen with and use the headphones before declaring them ‘poor’?

I agree with 8329###### that you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, in this case the earphones, but man those shitty little things look like they could damage my ears!
And that all black gorilla glass looks sexy as hell!

I have a sneeky feeling that Mr. Elop will make a surprise announcement of a third Nokia, higher tiered making it’s way to us a week or two before Christmas, right before the summing up the show.
I’m actually willing to bet a tenner on it.

2-prong outlets are bad over there? In the United States, that’s what everything basically is. If something is 3 prongs, it is super annoying!

I’m not sure where Surur is from, but in Scandinavia “2-prong” is the way to go. I can’t see the need for any adapters for this one.

In UK you basically only get 2 prong in hotel bathrooms. No wall sockets and very few power strips have then, meaning you have to add an extra, usually wobbly adaptor to power the phone. Fortunately it is of course just standard microUSB and you can just use any old, more bulky, 3 prong charger.

Cant you all apply a bit of common sense. Those plugs are for mainland Europe and my suspicion is that Nokia just brought them along for the unboxing exercise only. Those Shipped to the UK will have the 3-pin plugs in them. I doubt its even legal to sell electrical devices with 2-pin plug in the UK.

And Surur by the way, If you need help filming videos in future just say so. This one is a big let down. And why are you scared to open you mouth?
