Hi-Tech.Mail.ru reports that the Nokia Lumia 920 went on sale in Russia today, launched by none other than Stephen Elop and Steve Ballmer in person.

The handset will cost 24 990 rubles ($790), around the same cost the Nokia Lumia 900 was introduced 6 months ago.  The device will support Russian LTE networks.

At the same time the HTC 8X has launched in Ukraine for 5999 hrn., roughly equal to 23,212 Russian rubles and is already in stores.  The HTC 8S will cost 3399 hrn. (13,152 Russian rubles) and will hit the market in early December.

In Russia the HTC 8X is expected to launch next week at 23 990 rubles and will initially only be available in jet-black, with the blue version becoming available later in November. This can be pre-ordered here.

With the HTC 8X only slightly cheaper in Russia than the Nokia Lumia 920 the device does not have as much of a competitive advantage there than elsewhere, reports Winphonelive.ru

Thanks Sergey for the tip.
