Nokia officially put end to Nokia Android rumours

We did not report on the rumours that a Nokia job post pointed to an Android phone, mainly because they seemed pretty filmy. While Linux is the foundation for Android, the leap between that and a Linux engineer is pretty big.

Now Doug Dawson, head of Nokia Media Relations has officially put an end to these rumours, writing on twitter:

Hi. Our recently posted job is linked to our HERE Maps support for other platforms, including iOS and Android. Nothing more.

Of course the rumours were largely driven by Android fans who could not understand why Nokia chose a better OS, so I suspect the Nokia Android rumours will never really die.
