Nokia Sea Ray shows up on AT&T!

If you squint you may just see a pretty awesome sight in all those small letters.  Hidden in this screenshot of DSLReport’s Mobile Speed test is Nokia’s first Windows Phone 7 phone, the Nokia Sea Ray, strutting its HSDPA goodnesss on AT&T.

The line, which was noticed by Blogs of Mobile, reads as follows:

1211 mycingular.net Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows Phone OS 7.5; Trident/5.0; IEMobile/9.0; Nokia; SeaRay)

Blogs of Mobile notes the presence of AT&T HSDPA bands on the Nokia SeaRay does not necessarily prove the handset will come to AT&T, given Nokia’s prowess with pentaband handsets, but I suggest it is still pretty likely.

With the handset potentially now in carrier testing, could it be long before it actually reach store shelves?

I’m so praying that Nokia surprises us all and ships a totally different phone for the Sea Ray (one we’ve “never” seen before). While the Sea Ray in of itself isn’t a bad device, it’s nowhere close to what the market, Nokia and Microsoft needs at this juncture to boost WP7 market momentum (much less igniting the blogosphere).

That’s exciting, I’m switching to AT&T next month, but this makes me want to wait for the SeaRay to be released and see if it actually is on AT&T, subsidized. My original plan was to just buy it unlocked.

I wonder if I buy a Samsung Focus, and the Searay comes out less than a month later, if I can return the phone…I think most carriers let you return phones within 30 days.

I would agree if that were Sprint, Verizon, or Tmobile. AT&T needs to sign exclusivity contracts with popular handsets to distract their customers from the fact that their service is only rarely as good as advertised. I’m not surprised to see their name next to Sea Ray.

I want one, but I might wait for the follow up for the N8. I do like the look a lot better than any WP so far.

does it mean that it will have real fast internet browsing, download and all, considering its way fast than the rest of the devices mention in the chart?

Not excited if every good devices goes to ATT. Will be happy if they come in all the carriers instead of just ATT. Never liked ATT.
