Nokia strives for infinite battery life

In a rather whacky video Nokia’s Sustainability Operations team has shown off a rather cool concept – what if we could use wearable solar cells to charge our phones from ambient, even indoor light, rather than needing to be outside to enjoy the benefits of solar power.

That obviously needs a rather large surface area, but it turns out if you just about cover every square inch of your body with flexible solar cells it is possible.

While Nokia’s solution is based on the Nokia DC-40 solar charging accessory which is not exactly fashionable, we can imagine a near future where much better solutions exist and where worrying about your battery life is a thing of the past.
