Office Mobile 2010 out of beta

Today, Microsoft have released Office Mobile 2010. It’s available now, directly from Marketplace for free (though it appears to only be in the US marketplace at the moment).

The biggest change I’ve noticed in the five minutes since I downloaded it is the addition of SharePoint.

Judging from the screenshots, it’s also built with WM6.5.3 in mind.

We’ll let you know more after trying it more thoroughly, but as a free download, what’s there to complain about?

that's why all WM6.1 users should find themselves over at xda and upgrade their devices. easy as that problem solved.

WM6.1 is really old now… Though I see no reason it shouldn't be supported, apart from the gestures API. As far as I can remember, code written with the gestures API still runs fine on WM6.1.

Well, it looks like in addition to Sharepoint, they also updated the icons. Awesome! It's a good thing it's free, because if it cost literaly any money, it would be a rip-off. I remember over two years ago the Office team promising "good things" for Windows Mobile and stating "we've listened to you" regarding OneNote's lack of any inking or drawing features, or really any features at all above entering text and snapping a damn picture. I guess with WP7, all those "good things" were scrapped.
