Official Microsoft press event at Mobile World Congress announced, we will be there!

We do not have any more details yet, but Microsoft has made their (annual) press event at Mobile World Congress official.

The event will be held at on Monday, February 15, 2010, at 15:00-16:00 Central European Time at the Conference Garden Room, Catalonia Barcelona Plaza Hotel , Plaza Espana 6-8, 08014 Barcelona .

That translates into:

Due to the momentous announcements we expect WMPoweruser.com have made a special effort to get first hand coverage of the event, and we can now announce that we will be in attendance, and attempt to provide live streaming coverage of the event as it unfolds.

A safe bet for the announcement is improvements in Windows Mobile 6.5, but expectations are high for some showing of Windows Mobile 7, and possibly of new hardware the OS is intended to run on.

So it sounds like WM7 will have full on reveal and press at MIX and only limited at WMC. I can live with that. Looking forward to it. :0)

It does make sense that way, I expect MS will make 6.5.3 final and release that at MWC, and tease us with WM7, so the show won't be just talk as device makers will get final build of 6.5.3/6.6 to play with.

Then at MiX which is more for developers anyways, they'll talk about WM7 in way more detail and show more stuff/demos ofc. If this all holds true then we should see the first WM7 sooner than everyone was thinking. My guess of a Sept-Nov timeframe looks to be holding up at this point.

We're bound to see 7 running on some actual devices at these events. i wonder what they'll be? could we see a lineup of devices running 7 that will come later in the year? that would boost hype like crazy.

I'm pretty sure we will, they might not say much about the devices for sure but I expect the LG and HTC we know about to show up.

way too much Hype, seriously why? I for some strange reason like WM and support it. However, this is way too much excitment for WM7. We have not seen anything, we don't know what has been improved, what has been added, how it look or anything at all. yes expectations are high, and hopefully they can delvier, but come on lets wait to hear something prior getting our hopes up.
