Opera Mobile 10 Beta now available for Windows Mobile
In a move that was faster than we expected, Opera Mobile 10 for Windows Mobile is now available for download.
Opera Mobile 10 brings many innovations from Opera Mini 5 to the Mobile version, such as Speed Dial, tabbed browsing, password manager and Opera Turbo mode.
Said Jon von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software:
"We standardize our products so that our users use it regardless of platform or browser version in the usual way by them," "With Opera Mobile 10, we
increase the expectations for the performance of mobile browsers. Today, users expect that a browser is as efficient as the Web, they expect that it does its daily work as reliably as their PCs – does exactly the Opera. "
The new version also includes the new Presto rendering engine that ensures that Web pages are displayed exactly as on the PC.
The download is available from Opera here or use our Microsoft tag (gettag.mobi).

9.7 Beta also had the turbo mode, but it wouldn't let you download anything so I had to constantly turn it on and off.
What's the deal anyway? Did 9.7 ever leave beta?

I don't think it did. probably because they wanted to get the version numbers the same as the desktop version.

Over since Opera 9, the only final versions have been those purchased by oems.

Is there any chance this could be hacked to support multi-touch on HD2 ?

I wouldn't be surprised if it already did. i don't have a HD2 yet though so i can't test it.

Brandon from pocketnow has tested it on HD2 and sadly there's no pinch to zoom. Hope it can be fixed by devs!

I think there was a special registry entry for Opera to enable multitouch-zooming, maybe you could just use that for the newer version…

From the one minute I had it on my device I already like it a lot.
Like the Visual Tabs.
Although the 9.5 version worked fine with Flash, this one looks to be Disabled by Default
why do they have to remove the "clock"! i surf internet on my break or lunch break! i know to know the time so i wont go over my break or lunch break!
It's nice but…
Can anyone tell me how to get it to zoom on double tap and do text reflow like the older versions? None of these pages are fitting properly on my screen and double-tapping does nothing

OK, I realize that single tap works on big desktop-sized sites, but not on pages like touch.facebook.com or any iphone optimized pages. The scroll wheel on the Fuze also does nothing at all

Text reflowing is probably an HTC thing, rather than an Opera thing…

do you know if it will be enabled on HTC devices later? or will HTC need to release a special version of opera? it would suck to have to wait for the full version to be done and then to hope HTC release an update.

Opera Mobile 10 loads fine on my Omnia i910. However, the first site I visited http://www.foxnews.com never fully loaded so I went to task manager and exited from Opera. Then when I tried to restart it acted like it was restarting but never did. The task manager did not show it running. My Omnia was running very slow so I soft reset.
Went through the same process with the same results. – Another soft reset.
This time after Opera loaded I chose the tab they have as a default Wikipedia. This loaded but took some time to do so. I then tried again to open foxnews.com and it never finished loading. Opera became unresponsive…no taps were being processed. I again went to the task manager and exited Opera. Then restarted – same problem as the first time. Acted like it restarted but never showed up in task manager. System very slow again so another soft reset.
OK – I'm finished – Back to SkyFire.

can somenone confirm that it doesn't load foxnews?
I miss my winmo phone right now…..my phone broke and I haven't gotten a new one yet, I'm waiting on the HD2 to come to the states, but I'm getting real restless…..

OK – I read in another post that Turbo mode might cause problems, so I made sure it was turned off. Another start of Opera. This time I first selected the other two tabs that are standard. My Opera and BBC. Both of these sites loaded fine and I could move around. One thing I am not so crazy about is that a double tap will only work once and zoom to a pre-set zoom you select in Settings. I prefer the method of SkyFire where you get successive zooms.
Ok – so now time to load foxnews. It has been 15 minutes and the blue bar is about 2/3 of the way across and the wheel is still turning. There must be something on the foxnews site that Opera does not like.
Scrolling around the My Opera and BBC site was smooth with no problems.
Next loaded this site WMPowerUsers.com. It took a good 1.5 minutes or more but finally loaded.
I noticed that switching between portrait and landscape is also very slow.
OK – I will not unload it…and will do more testing.

No – but plan to do so after more testing that in fact it continues to hang.

I don't like FoxNews either – I prefer my news without a right wing bias
