Phonehouse sold out of Nokia Lumia 800′s at some stores in the Netherlands?

Maarten Sonneveld of Microsoft Netherlands, who runs the official Windows Phone twitter account for the Netherlands, has just tweeted that the Nokia Lumia 800 has sold out its initial shipment at a branch of Phonehouse, a large mobile phone retailer in Europe like Carphone Warehouse in UK, and that a new order is on the way.

The news would come as music to Nokia’s ears, who is betting heavily on the success of their first Windows Phone handset. UK carriers have already called the launch Nokia’s best ever, even of it did not beat records by the iPhone and Android.

Hopefully we will hear more such reports over the next few days.

People who expect that this phone will outsell Android or iPhone are too funny. It just proves that logical thinking is not as common what you would think.

I dont think there is a huge consumer loyalty to Android, so I think, with the right promotions, there is no reason why any individual Windows Phone can not outsell an Android phone. Everything you know now was presumed impossible 2-3 years ago.

Isn’t it ironic the way this works: It sux when it’s sold out and you want one; however, it’s awesome that the Lumia phones are so popular not even Microsoft Netherlands (Mr. Sonneveld) can get hold of one.

Nokia was the king of phones even before iphone..everybody knows that…and this will repeat…I need not say more..

I got mine today from Vodafone (telemarketing). They were saying that they had just 6 phones left. Yesterday, they had a stock of 2000. That to me seems to be a very good sales number
