It seems demand is remaining high for Nokia’s low-end wonder, with the pre-paid version of T-Mobile’s Nokia Lumia 521 selling out in their online store.
This follows the handset also selling out when offered on the Home Shopping Network in a few minutes and Walmart in a day, with Greg Sullivan recently saying Walmart had to request a second order.
Looking at T-Mobile’s line-up of 19 pre-paid handsets it is not difficult to see why the device is moving however.
The only two devices anywhere close in price would be the T-Mobile Comet and T-Mobile Concord, one with a 2.8 inch and the other with a 3.5 inch screen, 2 megapixel camera and Android 2.2 and 2.3.
With Nokia actually creating low-end handsets that do not suck, Windows Phone may be able to earn the respect of a whole new young demographic, that will hopefully move on to more powerful Windows Phones in the future.
Thanks T for the tip.
