Report: Microsoft struggling to finish Windows Phone 8 on time

imageThe Verge reports that their sources tell them Windows Phone 8 is already delayed, and Microsoft is struggling to meet even their pushed-out deadlines.

They report they were “told by multiple sources that Microsoft had originally planned to launch Windows Phone 8 in early October, ahead of the launch of Windows 8”, with delays and bugs during testing behind the troubles.

They report HTC in particular is affected, leading to their announcements being delayed compared to Samsung and Nokia.

In a silver lining, carriers may forgo customizing the OS to eliminate integration testing which would have introduced further delays.

The Verge is expecting a late October/Early November launch of handsets with marketing combined with that for Windows 8.

Hopefully Microsoft will be able to pull some irons from the fire and still deliver the smooth, bug-free and stable operating system we have become accustomed to.
