Report: No New Windows Phone Models At Mobile World Congress

If you are expecting something bring from Nokia and Microsoft at Mobile World Congress later this month, keep your expectations low. Recode today reported that there will be no new Windows Phone devices announcement at MWC. After the announcement of Nokia Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1320 at Nokia World, Nokia quietly launched Lumia 525 low-end smartphone and Nokia Lumia Icon for Verizon. While everyone was expecting a 5-inch flagship, successor to Lumia 720, Dual Sim Windows Phone and more from Nokia at MWC, Recode’s report is kind of shocking.

If the report turns out to be true, I guess Microsoft and Nokia have decided to announce new devices along with launch of Windows Phone 8.1 in April. Microsoft is expected to release developer preview of Windows Phone 8.1 OS during Build conference in April followed by public release in June.

What’s your expectation from Nokia/Microsoft for MWC?
