Rumor: Microsoft Paying Part Of Subsidy To Release Windows Phone 8X On 3 US Carriers

According to MS_nerd, Microsoft is paying a part of subsidy to release HTC Windows Phone 8X on all three US carriers and AT&T is subsidizing Lumia 920 completely for Nokia. Usually carriers and device OEMs will be responsible for subsidizing phone cost for consumers, but Microsoft as a platform provider is now involved in this act. MS_Nerd is also speculating that Surface Phone is definitely on the cards and it is just not ready yet.

Should Microsoft subsidize Windows Phone devices in other countries as well? What do you think?
