Rumor: Nokia Planning To Drop Samsung As Its Components Supplier

According to the report from Apple Insider, Nokia is planning to join Apple in dropping Samsung as their component supplier. Nokia, just like Apple is relying on Samsung for memory chips, displays and other components and it is looking to stop it because of Samsung’s nature of combining their component business with their mobile device business internally to compete with others.

An individual familiar with Nokia’s component orders from Samsung states that Samsung has, “a record of getting orders for next-gen components, then canceling the orders. And then they show up in a Samsung phone. When you see a Samsung ‘bendy’ OLED phone, as you surely will, you are looking at something that was stolen from Nokia.”

Nokia may fear that Samsung could end up copying their device designs/components similar to the way they did with Apple. What do you think?
