Rumour: Windows Phone 8 SDK being released on the 30th October

We have had a tip informing us that the elusive Windows Phone 8 will only be released on the 30th October, after the launch event and the final unveiling of the OS.

Microsoft has so far been keeping a pretty tight lid on the OS, releasing the Windows Phone 8 SDK and associated emulator only to specially approved, NDA-signing developers.

However despite Microsoft’s efforts the SDK did leak, and it seems there are very few features of the OS which has not been already been leaked, leaving many to question whether Microsoft’s futile efforts at secrecy was in fact harming rather than helping the OS.

Do our readers think the secrecy is helpful? Let us know below.

Thanks to our tipster.
