Sense On Windows Phone 7… What It Should NOT Look Like

This just showed up on Pocketnow as a render of how HTC will modify their version of Windows Phone 7, and I think its stupid. The image above is simple fake (you can tell), and I would never see HTC doing something this stupid in terms of looks and function. Putting all the work to release something like this is simple a waste of money because:

1) All these things are already a part of the original UI.

2) The color looks gross with the things added

3) Nothing really added to the UI

Now if I was to see HTC adding something, they will always make it worth the development time and look great. HTC is a smart company and they bought someone just to do all this work for them, so I have a high expectation for them.

I've seen similar renders on Pocketnow. I'm a little bit worried about their plan with "Sense", since my admittedly simple creative mind cannot think of how they can make it any better than this, because the interface is so locked down. HTC has never let me down in the past, however.

    We'll see!

  • LOL…. The hour and minutes each used up a tile….. That's so waste of resources. LOL!

  • "The color looks gross with the things added."

LOL. I've always thought 2-color Metro tiles were ugly. I do agree that adding something rendered in detail on top of them makes it all look a lot worse.

I think everybody is getting way ahead of themselves. I think to HTC "Sense" is just a brand now. it's not a product. It's just whatever widgets they develop for whatever platform. Sure, Android and WM share a lot of graphics. And I can see a similar full-width two-tile clock that looks familiar, but it definitely won't look like the above. lol. But it still will be within the constraints of the Metro home screen. Same with weather.

I think you are just going to see five or six widgets that live in Metro tiles that do some things that aren't built into WP7. Like, say, stocks, footprints, "HTC clock," "HTC weather," and maybe some things we haven't heard of yet.

You should not that this is a RUMOR… pocketnow did not state that this was from HTC. Please fix this and do not write a check list of things that you dislike about it being that it has not been confirmed.

  • I wish Microsoft and HTC just killed this non-story already. HTC was obviously misquoted in Forbes, and Forbes doesn't have enough tech cred to verify whether this is true or not. Meanwhile all the tech blogs are having a field day with it.

I will say that this might be a nice theme for WM 6.x Sense.

They weren't misquoted, just misunderstood by people who don't know what they're talking about. HTC will have some form of Sense on WP7. It will just be an app or collection of apps that come preloaded on the phone. You'll be able to easily uninstall it if you want to.

If the leaked images is the phone they have to offer then we don’t have to bother with their sense plans, Lightning FTW!!!!!

I for one am happy that MS is taking control of the OS, to what can be added or modified, etc. I grew weary of all the crap ATT and HTC added to the OS. So, I usually just flashed a limited ROM without Sense, or Manilla to get me through the days. I liked Titanium a lot.

And if this is really where HTC is headed with their software, I will be looking for a new provider. I've had 4 HTC phones, and loved the quality of their hardware, and bemoaned their software efforts.

If Samsung, has a keyboard, with their AMOLED screens, I'm all for it. ANd then I won't have to care what "Sense" is on WP7.

You can easily remove anything HTC adds to WP7 if you choose to do so. It's not like WM in that regard.

Good lord, your articles seem to get either more incoherent, or more infantile with each posting, WenWM.

Next time, please read before grabbing an image from XDA Dev's.
The user who originally posted it mentioned it was a concept HE made, and wondered if people also expected something like this.

It's NEVER been claimed it was real, at least not by the original poster.
