Smartphone home screens compared

Pocketnow has published this video comparing the home screens on the iPhone 3GS, HTC HD2, Google Nexus One and Palm Pre.

Observing the iPhone’s screen to be the most simplistic, and the HTC HD2’s to have the most eye candy, Pocketnow did not express a clear preference, but we know which one we will choose.

Well on my SE X1 default SE Panel I can basically do a lot with customization and displaying various data.
Practically design many different kinds of homesceens – from many apps launcher to calendar, rss etc. – without n eed of any fliping between pages – just onepage full of content.
Pitty it wasn't there to compare.

lol, he said the HD2 had a lot of finger travel…..it's only running your finger across the screen from one end to other, which definitely isn't a lot, however, on the nexus one he had to swipe so many times to get from one left most homescreen to the right most homescreen. I don't get his logic at all.

all the finger UI's require moonwalking, swiping, flicking, scrolling, pinching, all over the place, it's precisely the reason I dislike them so much, the only place I like gesture based interfacing is with HTC's album where it does actually work extremely efficiently
