Swype tutorial published

Swype has published this tutorial to show how to work their innovative keyboard, currently shipping on the Samsung Omnia 2 . The video gives a good idea of the actions involved, and despite the apparent complexity of its use, user reports are surprisingly good, both on the Windows Mobile and Android handsets where the software has found a home.

If you want to give it a try and do not have an Omnia 2, this Google search may be useful.

Swype is the best keyboard I have ever used. My Omnia II (earlier one) didn't come with this keyboard but I dowloaded and used the extracted one from Verizon Omnia II which works perfectly fine on my device. Thanks to the person who made it available for all WVGA devices. I don't feel like using any other soft keyboard anymore cuz I love it so much. It's easy, quick and fun to use and show our iPhone loving friends that how cool it is.

have they came out with an update yet? it's a nice keyboard but there are some rough edges that needs to be smoothed out

Really? Haven't noticed any rough edges in the two months I've been using Swype… not any more than other SIPs anyway.

And it's funny to me you guys need tutorial videos to use it. It has a little animation tutorial built into the keyboard which shows how it's to be used pretty well.

Anyway, I have one complaint about Swype and that's that you can't add haptic feedback to it. Using TouchResponse you can set this up for all keyboard no problem, except for Swype which does not produce any vibrations for some reason.

I've used it many time even before it's release, never needed a tutorial to know how to use it, I think it's quite straight forward.
