T-Mobile Germany announces the availability of the Nokia Lumia 800 with carrier billing enabled
T-Mobile Germany have posted a press release announcing the availability of the Nokia Lumia 800.
Calling themselves a strategic partner, Niek Jan van Damme, CEO Telecom Germany GmbH said:
“We want to consolidate the leading position of Deutsche Telekom in the smartphone segment. With the new Nokia Lumia 800 we extend our selection of modern smartphones running different operating systems, which already support many of our telecom cloud offerings such as the Media Center integration. We are convinced that the partnership Nokia will be successful. ”
The first 20,000 buyers will get a €50 voucher which they can use on apps and games in Marketplace, while everyone else will be able to bill their marketplace purchases directly to their monthly phone bill.
We have earlier been told carrier billing is a major feature requirement by Nokia.
The phone will be available on tarrifs as cheap as the Complete Mobil L available for €4.95, with the phone paid separately of course.
The Nokia Lumia 800 (SeaRay) is an upcoming Windows Phone with a 3.7” ClearBlack AMOLED screen, HSPA+ data speeds, and a 1.4 GHz single-core processor. It has an 8-megapixel rear camera, no front-facing camera, and 16 GB of storage. It is coming to many countries like Germany around November 16, 2011. United States release date is currently unknown.
