HTC Radar performance compared to the HTC HD7
WP7.com.pl have given the HTC Radar a play-off against the HTC HD7, one of the flagship devices of the last generation.
On superficial overview the device share the same specs – a 1Ghz processor and 512 MB RAM, but of course the Radar sports a newer generation Snapdragon and a Adreno 205 GPU.
The video shows the newer device has a clear advantage in load speed and game performance, which also translates into higher benchmark scores.

Samsung Focus S the fastest yet (if you can believe WP Bench)

According to the latest leader board in the benchmarking app WP Bench the Samsung SGH-i1937 (AKA the Samsung Focus S) is the fastest Windows Phone 7 handset so yet, and also the fastest of the new generation of Windows Phone 7.5 handsets.
The Samsung Focus S is powered by a 1.4 Ghz Snapdragon processor and likely uses NAND memory, rather than microSD card storage, which tend to slow things down.
Of course we need to bear in mind that WP Bench data can be easily falsified, so we should take anything which turns up there with a massive pinch of salt, but if it does turn out to be true we would not be too surprised.
Thanks Andrew for the tip.
SnapDragon CorePlayer play-off: HTC HD2 vs Acer neoTouch
Solopalmari has pitted the HTC HD2 against its only other Snapdragon competition, the Acer neoTouch, which is around half the price.
The famous Matrix trailer at VGA resolution was played at maximum speed without dropped frames and devices that were freshly hard reset, and the result may surprise you.
Suffice to say however both devices will give your more than adequate performance even with unaccelerated video.
Check out the video above to find out the outcome of the test.
HTC HD2 vs HTC Touch HD – OpenGL Stress test
This latest video pits the venerable HTC Touch HD against the brand spanking new HTC HD2 in an OpenGL stress test, and of course the result is predictable. Unfortunately the actual numbers are not legible in the video, but we have seen in the past that we can expect some pretty amazing results when we compare the Snapdragon device against the older generation devices.

Video performance of SE Xperia and Asus P565 compared
We don’t normally like to re-open old wounds, but we recently saw this video on PDA.pl and found it so striking we had to share it.
The video is a Core Player benchmark running the Matrix trailer.
It is clear the Qualcomm processor is seriously outclassed by the Marvel version. Of course HTC has warned that these comparisons are flawed, as their built-in video player, HTC Album, is hardware accelerated, while Core Player is not, but of course Core Player actually gives you the codec freedom to play downloaded video, which is usually exactly where you need to be able to play full resolution un-optimized video.
Of course tragically it seems the Asus P565 is being phased out by Asus in favour of its Qualcomm powered Garmin partnership, but I suggest if you want to play downloaded video, and you see this device around, its worth buying in favour of all the other legion of Qualcomm powered devices around.
