The Unofficial Change Log For The RTM Version Of Windows Phone 7
Having a friend that is a serious developer or is close to the Windows Phone 7 scene is nice, and thankfully for us we do.
Today he delivered to us the most elusive of things – an unofficial change log for the release to manufacturer version of Windows Phone 7.
Here is the changes he notices below.
Landscape in Search
Hotmail/live mail syncing enabled
Text fades out on lockscreen
Marketplace has lots of caching (before it redownloaded the entire database on each load, now it doesn’t)
Games hub loads much faster
Everything is faster
Slight change in Bing maps, app bar UI makes it faster to search, nicer icons
Panorama/pivots work!
Only 10 apps can be sideloaded at a time (which is a right PITA for development).
As time goes on he will add more to the change log. Keep an eye on the site or our twitter account (twitter.com/wmpoweruser) for the latest Windows Phone 7 news.

Why I am Considering Android ATM

It comes a time in a man’s life when he has to make a hard decision, and it seems mine is coming soon. This weekend had brought some new thoughts in me regarding switching to Android, and I think I should tell you why a power user like me would do such a thing.
HTC Headsets become a little more useful
HTC is one of the best designer in the Windows Mobile world with their sexy headsets, but the functions that come with these things are not as great. This tweak created by an XDA member attempts to fix this issue. The tweak, which is very old changes what happens when you press the call button on your headset. here is exactly how it works “one long press on the headset’s microphone button => play/pause press quickly two times => play next track.” The tweak was confirmed for the HD, but I can not personally test this due to my headset being broken and cannot find another. Give this tweak a go and give us a comment on how it works out for you.
