Mango Spread for HD2 Users Monday!

Wow, mango is a delicious OS (so far) for developers and the media alike that have updated their devices or were given test devices. But the mango sexy doesn’t end with current windows phones 7 because it seems the HTC HD2 super phone has also received Mango from DFT. But there are some warnings and considerations: windows live functions aren’t working and you have to use MS Hotmail Connector to sync with Outlook. A huge bummer is multitouch isn’t working properly, but that’s a hardware limitation. For the users of the T-Mobile US HTC HD2, Mango works, but 512 MB of NAND is used versus the supported 1024. Bold enough to grab Mango for the HD2 to extend its shelf life? Mark Monday on your calendar to get a sweet taste of Mango on a device that may never die.

HTC HD2 Already Running Desire HD ROM

It seems they HD2 is faster than some other Android devices at getting ports because in the video above DarkStone has a version running on his HD2. He managed to get this port only 3 days after the original release of the new device. Now it is not the fastest build I have seen on video but I am sure that is why he did not release it yet. I am sure he will improve, enhance, optimize this build so he can upgrade his line of Android builds.

What do you think of the HD2 and its unstoppable ability to keep up with current devices and take everything while still looking cool.

RPG Game For WM Now Available

Now I am not a huge RPG player, so I cannot say I know or have played this game but I am sure some of you guys might be interested. Ported/developed by XDA member zyphuris55, this new game is a mini game that used to be played quite common on the PS1+2. Now considering I have very few experience with this all I can say is the comments seem positive and the updates seem to be rolling just fine.

My Favorite ROM Of June-Present

In our previous post asking what people want from us, I received some requests asking if we could have some more ROM articles. This is not my review of Elegance’s latest release, but just a pre article telling you that if you are an HD2 owner looking for a stable, fast, and smooth ROM to replace what you currently have… This ROM is the best (from my experience).

I have said this before, but I used to be the biggest Energy ROM fan. Flashed it with my Touch Pro, Touch Pro 2, and HD2. I always used them, and recommended it till one day when NRG did not update the ROM for over 7 days (I know, he never does that), I starting itching to flash (flashaholic) and found Elegance ROM. Since then I have only used it on my HD2 every release is better than the previous and is not constantly updated(like other ROMs), and that is because it is stable, and simply perfect. When an update is available (twice a month usually), it just brings updates to the software, not much fixes (non that I have noticed).

I am just about to flash this ROM, so if you trust me, you should try it ASAP, and get ready to enjoy your device much more.

Rss Feed Tab For Sense… Wah?

Reading the XDA blog is something I do regularly (since I am suppose to be writing for it), and I just found a little something that you might be interested in. This new development originates from the forums, where members are working hard at bringing the RSS software to your home screen.

The project seems to have quite a bit of things going for it, but sadly I cannot confirm due to XDA being down for maintenance.

Here is what the blog post included:

The plan is for this project will be open as possible and allow new developers to have a go, I would like to make this accessible as possible.
There is plenty which can be done, by all ranges of skill levels so have a look through and give things a try and ask some questions if you get stuck. The aim initially is to develop a fully working RSS Tab, which everyone can add and contribute to then, using the same methods, many other tabs can be created.

Other than that, you will have to wait till XDA is back up. When it returns the thread will have all the information you need.

Cool Theme For CHT and HTC HD2

The HD2 seems to be getting the full development power of XDA, because with all these great things coming out of there, I am not sure what is coming next. The theme was created by XDA member dena994, who managed to get a perfectly clean looking theme that includes everything to improve its look.The theme is a very simple blue(my favorite color) colored theme, with minimal design, simple slider, and clean clock, all in one.

The developer did not include any much specifics on this release, but from the looks of it, I do not need it. I will be installing this application/theme today when I return home, because with blue colors, and simplistic look… I am sold.

Flash Based Games On HD2

The games that comes with the HD2 get boring really fast, well have you though about a flash based game? I bet you didn’t, well XDA member suyama8 sure did, and he made it into a cap, and you can now download it. He got a method of downloading, and installing these games on your device(mostly the HD2.)

Searching I found a way to run flash games on our mobile (k: on HD2)

Download and install in the memory of the device this:

We download the game’s pack that we want.

We put the swf game in the memory card and with Resco Explorer associate the swf to the program that was previously installed: Archivos de programa/adobe/Flashlite/appzone.exe

Done, now we can play, choose your favorite program to rotate the screen and enjoy it!

That is a simple way to get new games. Thankfully, he made some files containing games in different categories, and some of his favorites for your convince.

GPS Tab For Touch Flo 3D AKA Sense

While reading the long list of threads on the touch HD2 section of XDA, I found something that might interest those hardcore HTC sense users. This mod/tab was created by a Russian Fed citizen on XDA, whose called xaoc747. He managed to envision a new way to display your compass, and GPS data, and has made it happen with the first release of his new Sense Tab.

This Tab contains many thing going on at once, and I am sure all HTC HD2 users that want the experience will loss a lot of battery in the process. But that’s neither here or there. If you want to have your GPS in your face and easily accessable at all time this tab comes with:

- work with GPS module without using a third-party navigation software
- definition of current position
- definition of object motion parameters for calculation between the current and previous points
- Determination of directions and distances to given calculation points
- recording of tracks (routes) in automatic and manual modes in a format Yandex maps with further viewing them
- an analysis of the tracks (the specified distance route, maximum and average speed on the route and time of movement on the route)
- Work with the payment points (in the format tags Yandex maps)
- sending SMS with your coordinates in the automatic and manual modes for a given number
- to set the maximum speed and control the speed while driving with the gradation by the fine

Now this might not be the best GPS system you will have on your Windows Phones(I personally use iGo,) but for a free software that looks good and comes with all these features… I only have one question, where do I sign up .

Favorite App On My HD2

Getting my device to the right settings and app stock is always the hardest thing about getting a new device, but thanks to i3v5y, it was easy to find my favorite. His application LMT launcher from what I have experienced so far is the most important app installed on my device, and makes the device a whole lot better and my friends that own the iPhone very envious.

If you are not aware of what the application does, its very simple. It adds multi touch functions, and app launcher to your device. This application has been updated recently and the new updated features are as follows:

- Controller -> activates the multitouch controller/dpad (default for "Square" gesture). Use it for FPSEce, morphgear, etc… The controller converts the touches to key events. The button "R" toggles between portrait and landscape mode; the button "x" deactivates the controller mode.
