HTC Radar confirmed to have a front-facing camera

While the HTC Radar is a lower end device, the specs from this shot from the event does at least reassure us that it does in fact sport a front-facing camera. While the device does not have the 1.3 megapixel camera of the HTC Titan, it should be able to play perfectly fine in the video calling game with a VGA camera facing the user.
Microsoft has confirmed support in its API’s and to take pictures and videos, but is not yet ready to announce services that use the feature.

Allaboutphones.nl has nailed down the specs of the HTC Radar and the HTC Titan, and has revealed that the HTC Radar is indeed a lower-end device, with only a 1 Ghz processor and 5 megapixel camera, and also a 3.8 inch screen with SRS sound. According to Prof Thibault it has the same Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor as the HTC Titan, only running at a slower clock speed.
The HTC Titan is of course the more premium handset with a 4.7 inch screen, 1.5 Ghz processor and 8 megapixel camera with wide-angle camera. The handset also has an aluminium unibody design.
The handset has 768 MB of RAM, a 1600 mAH battery, weights 160 grams and is 131x71x9.9mm.

HTC Titan (HTC Eternity) confirmed to have a 4.7 inch screen

HTC has started its meeting in Paris, and has confirmed the rumoured screen size of the HTC Titan, formerly the HTC Eternity.
The device is confirmed to have a massive 4.7 inch screen, one of the largest in the market, only exceeded recently (for a phone) by the Samsung Note.
HTC also confirmed the HTC Radar (formerly HTC Omega) has an aluminium unibody design with a wide-angle 28mm camera, but only 5 megapixel. The phone also has a 1 Ghz processor.
Both cameras will feature a burst mode, which can take 5 pictures in a row, and a panorama mode, which takes 3 pictures.
Both handsets are expected in the October/November time frame.

The HTC Omega has shown up on an Algerian auction site for only 370 Euro. The device is expected to be announced on September 1st by HTC at numerous locations around Europe and is said to feature a 1.5 Ghz processor and 8 megapixel camera.
The ROM appears to be Orange branded, and the language French, likely giving a clue to the carrier where the phone will show up first.

HTC Omega is HTC Radar, HTC Eternity is HTC Titan

Tezawaly from Nanapho.jp has dug up some UAProfs files from HTC’s website which rather conclusively show that the final names of the HTC Omega will be the HTC Radar, and that of the HTC Eternity would be the HTC Titan.
The UAProfs entries plus leaked codenames from the WP Bench app show the HTC Radar C110e is HTC Omega and HTC TITAN X310e is HTC Eternity. Long time Windows Mobile users will remember the HTC Titan as a small screened slider, but of course the HTC Eternity, which is expected to sport a 4.5 inch screen, is the furthest possible from that design.
With the HTC Radar having a front-facing camera I think we can now safely assume the HTC Titan will come with that feature also, with the leaked specs saying it sported a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.

First HTC Omega renders confirm front-facing camera

Pocketnow has published the first renders of the HTC Omega, rumoured to have a 3.8 inch screen. the device resembles the HTC Mozart, but in a first for a HTC Windows Phone 7 handset, sports a front-facing camera.
The handset does not look as slim as I would like, but the styling is at least a small departure from the darker handsets we saw last year.
What do our readers think of this device? Let us know below.
BGR: HTC Eternity and HTC Omega being announced on September 1st

The BGR is claiming to have inside sources confirming that HTC will be announcing two Windows Phone 7.5 handsets on the 1st September.
The two handsets have been leaked earlier – the HTC Eternity, which only has a 3.7 inch screen, and the HTC Omega, with a 4.5 inch screen.
The Eternity is aimed for AT&T, while the Omega, likely a HTC HD7 successor, will be going to T-Mobile USA.
When previously leaked, both devices were meant to feature 1.5 Ghz processors and 8 megapixel cameras, and both had DLNA.
According to BGR the handsets may hit the market “sooner than expected”.
Thanks WPCentras.lt for the tip.
Specs of the HTC Omega leaked?
Gadgetian.com claims to have the full specs of the HTC Omega, an upcoming Windows Phone 7 Mango handset.
They confirm a 1.5 Ghz processor, 3.8 inch SLCD screen, 16 GB of storage and an 8 megapixel camera. The specs also show the device to have the European 900 and 2100 MHz GSM HSDPA/UMTS bands, but of course this can always change per region.
Of note is that the “full specs” miss important details such as the size of the device and also its thickness and weight, important when “thin and light” is all the rage these days.

HTC Omega and HTC Eternity cases turn up

We first heard about the HTC Eternity and HTC Omega some time ago. Then the Eternity was said to have an unprecedented 4.7 inch screen and 1.5 Ghz processor, while the Omega was a more mundane 3.8 incher.
The devices were also said to have 8 megapixel cameras and features such as DLNA, with the Eternity said to have microHDMI out.
We heard a lot more about the HTC Eternity since then, including a leaked render and specs. Now Pocketnow have managed to spot some cases for the hopefully upcoming handsets on alibaba, a B2B market often used by small Asian ODMs.
Hopefully the cases are more confirmation that the handsets are real and will be making it to market soon, with the HTC Eternity at least being a much needed hero device for Windows Phone 7 in USA.
Rumour: 9 new Windows Phones to be shown off on the 24th
We have received another tasty rumour, and as usual can not resist passing it on.
We are all expecting to hear a lot more about Mango on the 24th, and we are also expecting to have the Windows Phone 7.5 emulator released to developers.
What no-one is expecting is new devices to be shown off, but this is exactly what our tipster is telling us.
According to him/her we can expect around 9 devices to be announced – 2 from HTC, 2 from Acer, one from Dell (the Dell Wrigley) and a massive 4 from Samsung, some of which resemble the Samsung Galaxy S2.
The handsets are not necessarily expected to be released soon; in fact they are likely aimed for the holiday season, which would likely put a further damper on current Windows Phone 7 sales. On the other hand it gets increasingly difficult to keep handsets secret when they enter carrier testing, so officially announcing them 3-4 months before release may not be such an issue.
As usual we do not have any corroboration for this rumour, but unlike the last one we should know very, very soon if its true or not.
Special thanks of course to our anonymous tipster.
HTC Omega and HTC Eternity may be new Windows Phone 7.5 handsets
We have just received an intriguing tip claiming two new Windows Phone 7.5 handsets are on the way.
According to our anonymous tipster the HTC Eternity will run Mango, feature a massive 4.7 inch AMOLED screen, wide-angle 8 megapixel camera with LED flash, DLNA and microHDMI out.
The HTC Omega on the other hand will be a lower end device, similar to the HTC Trophy, with a 3.8 inch SLCD screen, wide-angle 8 megapixel camera with LED flash and DLNA support.
Both handsets are said to feature 1.5 Ghz processors, similar to HTC’s tablets which have recently been leaked.
HTC does not currently own the trademarks to these names, and we can find no reference to the devices elsewhere. Until we can find such verification the info will remain a rumour, but a pretty sweet one at that.
Thanks to our anonymous tipster, and if anyone else has any pictures to share please use our contact form above.
