Dual boot HTC Touch Diamond 2 clone runs Android and Windows Mobile 6.5
I know that some of our readers have been waiting for the ultimate hack which will allow a Windows Mobile smartphone to dual boot also into Android.
Unfortunately the hack is not available for existing devices, but if you are willing to spend $200 you can get a pretty good HTC Touch Diamond 2 clone with the ability to selectively boot into Android or Windows Mobile.
The so-called Double Star Dual OS T5353 has a 3.2 inch WVGA resistive screen, 5 megapixel AF camera, WIFI, GPS, GSM but no 3G ( as is near standard for China) and is only 12 mm thick. It is powered by a 624 Mhz processor and 256 MB RAM with 512 MB storage, and also microSD expansion.
See the device doing its Android thing above, and after the break a tour of its Windows Mobile 6.5.3 environment below.
HTC Touch Diamond 2 now also get a facebook hotfix
It seems the problem plaguing the Facebook client on HTC Sense affects the HTC Touch Diamond 2 too, and HTC is slowly rolling out the fix to its various handsets.
Diamond 2 owners can visit HTC Support here and download the hotfix, which should leave device data intact, but of course a backup is still recommended.
AT&T HTC Pure being withdrawn from shelves due to slow sales?
The BGR has come across an internal memo from AT&T asking AT&T cell phone shops to return their HTC Pure handsets to the warehouse.
No reason for the recall of the 7000 handsets are given, but the memo emphasises there are actually nothing wrong with the handsets, leading BGR to speculate this this may be due to slow sales, leading AT&T to replace the handsets with better sells on the shelves.
While this is pure speculation, the HTC Pure is in some ways an older generation device, not just due to the processor, but it features, at 3.2 inches, the smallest screen of a current generation US smartphone, which likely impacted its popularity compared to similar devices like the HTC Imagio, which feature better styling and more features.
Can our readers speculate on the reasons for the recall or know more? Let us know below.

Get an HTC Pure for only 1c
There are deals and there are deals. Getting a current generation device for only 1 cent is certainly a great deal, and you can get it here by buying a HTC Pure from Amazon for that tidy sum (of course tied to a 2 year contract).
The HTC Pure is being pretty well reviewed, except for the lack of a 3.5 mm headphone, so if you are thinking of buying this device Amazon seems a pretty good stop first.
